My left wrist has been bothering me, so we did a squat workout with stone simulation thrown in instead of event training.
We started with the stone exercise - low cable handles, squeezing an exercise ball and lifting it up and over like a stone.
Then before Mike clarified ..we did Zercher squats 12, 10, 8
(Mike's original instructions when I asked what to do were "ball simulation, zercher squats"
Anyhow..Mike was at the gym..and says "no..I meant for you to do 5 sets of 5 for zercher squats, back squats and front squats" .... back to the rack...
I forgot my knee sleeves..so no max weight on anything..and afterwards Mike says - you used the axle for the zercher squats, right? umm, no. no wonder I hated them so much more this time. lol.
Did 2 more sets of zercher squats and then 5X5 back squats and 5X5 front squats.
The front squats felt the best they ever have, maybe because they were last and my knees decided we weren't quitting and decided to work. I have been working on depth with all my squat variations, and Mike has me working on a complete stop at the bottom "no bouncing!".
All in all a good workout (for me, Adam's back was bothering him after the first set of back squats so he quit..until Mike made him do leg press). today my quads and glutes are sore, will stretch and roll them later...and my wrist feels like I could do a pull routine tonight :)
I am down 8 lbs so far ;)
